Is Payhip Available Worldwide? What You Should Know

Many creators ask: “Can I use Payhip no matter where I live?” The answer is mostly yes — but with some caveats depending on location and which payment gateways are supported in your country. Let’s dive in.

What “Available” Means

When we ask if Payhip is available worldwide, there are two angles:

  1. Using Payhip as a seller — can you register, upload products, and sell from your country?

  2. Getting paid / payment gateways — does Payhip support the payment processors that operate in your country for receiving funds?

Both are important, because even if you can create a store, if there is no means to receive payments locally, you might run into problems.

Global Reach and Gateways

Payhip supports several well-known global payment gateways. These include:

  • PayPal — operates in 200+ markets and supports 100+ currencies.

  • Stripe — in many countries, mostly in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific.

  • Mollie — largely European countries.

  • Paystack — specifically in some African countries: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa.

  • Mercado Pago — for various Latin American countries.

Because these gateways are available in many places, Payhip can be used by sellers from many countries. However, whether you can connect a specific gateway depends on whether it’s supported in your country.

Limitations / Things to Check

Here are some of the “gotchas”:

  • Payment gateway availability: If your country is not supported by any of the payment processors Payhip integrates with, you won’t be able to receive payments locally.

  • Currency / bank restrictions: Even where the gateway is supported, the payout may depend on having a bank account or other local financial infrastructure compatible with that gateway.

  • Regulatory / tax issues: Sometimes there are local tax laws, VAT, or legal restrictions that affect selling digital goods in or from certain countries. Payhip handles things like EU/UK VAT automatically in some cases, but this can differ by location.

  • Verification and compliance: Some payment processors require identity verification or business registration. If you're in a country where these are more complex, there may be delays or extra steps.

So, Is Payhip Worldwide?

In summary:

  • Yes, Payhip is usable in many countries around the world for selling digital products, courses, memberships, and physical goods.

  • But it’s not truly universal — there are some countries or regions where certain payment gateways are not available, or local banking / payout options may limit what you can do.

  • Before committing, it’s best to check the payment gateways available for your specific country in Payhip’s settings (“Payment Details” or equivalent) to see what options you have for receiving payments.

Final Thoughts

If you want to start with Payhip, here’s what to do:

  1. Create a Payhip account.

  2. Go to Account Settings → Payment Details.

  3. See which gateways are available in your country.

  4. Confirm you have a bank or payout method compatible with the gateway.

If your country is supported, you’re good to go! If not, you may need to explore alternative gateways or platforms that work locally for you.
